Worship is more about his worth and our service. Falling prostrate before Him demonstrates both.

It is reverential fear in awe and wonder. For the Jews and the Samaritans it is more about a place. The Jews in Jerusalem and the Samaritans at Gerizim. The Lord's entry into such a setting gives us long lasting solutions. His utterances shake the deep rooted beliefs. He takes worship beyond locations and geographical boundaries. He says the days have come where the true worshippers rise above patterns and structures in recognizing His worth and committing themselves for service.

Speaking to the Samaritan woman the Lord makes a Universal statement. He expresses what His Father seeks after. It is worshipping Him in spirit and in truth. (God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

John 4:24) . It means that the human spirit is to be lined up with the Holy Spirit while worshipping the Father. How can those who do not have the Spirit of Christ truly worship the Father ? (Romans 8:9)

Only when you are justified by His grace, you receive the Spirit. Make sure you have Him. How can those who have no knowledge of Christ, because of absence of his word in them, worship the Father truly? Make sure you abide in Jesus's word word. His word is Truth ! Tozer says that we can worship Him only to the extent we know Him. Beyond that is hypocrisy and babbling of words ! (Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord . (Hosea 6:3).

Paul says that offering our bodies as a living sacrifice is the true service or worship(Romans 12:1). Mind you, only the body which the Spirit enabled you to give it neutrality (Romans 8:11).

Here the body is inclusive of your soul and spirit. All these 3 are lined up with the Spirit. This is a holy and acceptable worship to the Father. This is linked up with Loving Him. (Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘Hear , O I srael ! The Lord our God is one Lord ; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart , and with all your soul , and with all your mind , and with all your strength .’

Mark 12:29‭-‬30 ). Heart is the seat of all emotions. Every emotion has it's meaning and purpose. God expects us to love Him with all our emotions.

Mind in all it's alertness, full of His word is to be engaged in loving Him. Strength of the body, along with all the resources we have is to be engaged in His service.

Might be you are lost in your pattern of worship. Might be you have got used to this pattern. Might be God is shaking the patterns in the US and the rest of the world these days. Might be He is shaking the patterns built by traditional churches, assemblies, fellowships and free churches these days. He is giving us a chance as families and small groups of individual believers to worship Him in Spirit and Truth.

May I venture to say that it is the Father who is to be worshipped in the Spirit, the Holy Spirit and in the name of Truth, the Son Jesus ?

Afterall, to whom are the New Testament (NT) prayers are addressed ?

May the Lord guide us to understand the scriptures through the Spirit of His Son.
